We are looking for a Fullstack/Backend Developer with strong API integration experience, particularly in integrating Google Wallet or Google Pay, as well as React experience for front-end integration. This role requires someone who has direct experience working with Google Pay/Google Wallet, as this is a must-have requirement. The role is part-time (10-20 hours/week) with the potential for full-time conversion after three months, depending on performance and business needs.

You will be responsible for both backend and frontend tasks, collaborating with teams to ensure seamless integration of Google Wallet, handling payment functionalities, and ensuring smooth communication between the backend services and front-end components. Strong problem-solving and clear communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Integrate Google Wallet/Google Pay API with existing and new features in our SaaS platform.
  • Develop APIs that interact with Google Wallet for payments, verification, and other necessary integrations.
  • Collaborate with the front-end team to ensure proper integration between backend APIs and React front-end applications.
  • Work on both back-end and front-end components of the product as needed, ensuring a seamless user experience and a stable payment system.
  • Handle client onboarding and technical integration, ensuring the successful implementation of payment features.
  • Ensure scalable and secure API architecture, handling sensitive user payment data.
  • Troubleshoot and fix any issues related to API interactions, Google Pay/Wallet integrations, or front-end functionality.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams (Product, Sales, and Engineering) and external clients to gather requirements and resolve technical challenges.

Skills:

  • Experience with Google Wallet/Google Pay API – MUST have experience working on or integrating Google Pay or Google Wallet in a previous role.
  • Backend Development: Experience with API development, ideally in NodeJS or similar environments.
  • ReactJS: Proficiency in ReactJS and experience working with React front-end applications, particularly in integrating with APIs.
  • RESTful APIs & Web Services: Solid understanding of REST APIs, authentication mechanisms (OAuth, JWT), and data flow management.
  • Experience with Payment Systems is a strong plus, including familiarity with payment gateways and handling sensitive payment data.
  • Cloud Services: Familiarity with cloud technologies such as AWS (preferred but not required).
  • Version Control: Experience with Git for version control and collaborative coding.
  • Problem-solving & Debugging: Excellent troubleshooting skills, particularly when dealing with payment APIs and integrations.

About You:

  • 5+ years of software development experience, with at least 2 years of experience working with payment systems, specifically Google Pay or Google Wallet.
  • Strong proficiency in ReactJS and backend API development.
  • You have experience working on SaaS products with a focus on payment integrations and client-facing technical implementations.
  • Assertive and solution-oriented—comfortable having tough conversations and pushing for the information needed to ensure project success.
  • Strong communication skills—able to articulate technical issues clearly and collaborate with cross-functional teams effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality code and ensuring smooth functionality across both backend and frontend.
